About the 2024 AAWIL Conference
-
When and where will the 2024 conference be held?
The Asian American Women In Leadership conference will be taking place on Saturday, November 9th at Simmons University in Boston, MA. Registration link and information soon to come!
-
Can I still attend the conference even if I don't identify as an Asian American woman?
Our aim is to center and empower Asian American women; however, we welcome people of all genders, ages, and races/ethnicities to our community events and conference. We know that being an Asian American woman can come in many different shapes and forms and we want to be inclusive and embrace whoever you are. We invite allies and supporters of the Asian American women community to learn, listen, and contribute even if you do not personally identify as an Asian American woman.

How can I support the conference?
You can support the conference by providing in-kind donations, purchasing tiered registration tickets, and/or sponsoring the conference! Learn more about how to support us here.
By supporting AAWIL and ASPIRE, you are empowering Asian American women leaders through identity development, mentorship, and education. Without supporters, we would not be able to offer our conference and programming free of cost to womxn and girls across the country.

Why do we say Asian American and not Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI)?
We want to be intentional about the terms we use to identify our community, and while Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders share many of the same experiences and histories, there are also many differences. Our conference organizers and attendees are predominantly Asian American, so we do not feel comfortable identifying as an AAPI conference when we do not have Pacific Islander representation. As our conference continues to grow and evolve, we would love to one day identify as the AAPI Women in Leadership conference when we have more Pacific Islander organizers and attendees who can speak to their specific positionalities and experiences as Pacific Islander women. Until then, we are proud to foster a community where Asian American women and their allies can explore their personal and professional development.
